Conditions of use

1) Your usage of our system acknowledges your acceptance of our terms and conditions.

2) Starwon Internet will supply Internet service as prescribed by the type of account you have contracted with us. Since most Starwon accounts are time controlled, Starwon will not disconnect you while you have time left in the day, or if you have a monthly account, time left in the month. Unless otherwise arranged and in order to protect your time purchased, Starwon Internet will disconnect clients who have been idle for 15 minutes.

3) You are responsible for paying your account promptly and payment can be either by cheque, cash, money order, direct deposit, or credit card debit. You may provide us with a credit card number so we can monthly debit your account. When an account payment is overdue the account will be suspended and three months later, it will be deleted from our computer files. Payment of the account within three months will result in unsuspension of the account.

4) Starwon Internet will occasionally perform maintenance on its systems, and occasionally operational problems will result in service being stopped or slowed down. Starwon undertakes to keep these downtimes to as low as possible, and will give users notice of maintenance down times.

5) You are not allowed to spam with your account, that is, to send mass unsolicited emails to other email accounts. For the first offence a warning will be given. For the second, suspension of the client's account will happen. For the third offence, permanent suspension of the account will occur.

6) You may not threaten or disrupt others by the usage of your account. You may not perform illegal activities or publish material on your web pages that would be refused publication by the State Censorship Board. This includes material on the making of bombs and weapons or sites promoting racial hatred. You are responsible for keeping copyright and may not defame or defraud others with the use of your Internet account. Starwon will suspend accounts where these activities occur. Starwon Internet accepts no responsibility for the illegal actions of clients who use its services.

7) You are legally responsible for minors who use your account.

8) The Internet is not controlled by any one person or body. Starwon is not responsible for web pages or email content that does not originate from its machines. If you wish a World Wide Web filter, you may connect to a proxy server Starwon keeps for these purposes. Please contact Starwon for more information if this is the case.

9) Starwon reserves the right to close off certain ports to protect itself and its clients from outside penetration or attack.

10) Starwon maintains a Support department to help Starwon clients to access the Internet. Advice from Starwon Employees is given in good faith. Starwon is not responsible for damage or loss caused by good faith advice from its employees.

11) You are responsible for keeping your password private. Starwon Members pages allow people to change their passwords, if need arises.

12) Starwon will not be liable for any telephone charges incurred connecting to our services. Local call numbers for our points of presence (listed in the members area) are provided as a guide only. It is the responsibility of the user to determine whether calls made to Starwon Internet are charged at local or STD rates. Telstra call charges can be obtained by calling Telstra on 1800 113 011.

13) All software provided by Starwon Internet is used by yourself at your own risk. Starwon Internet will not be held liable for any damage to any software or hardware resulting from the use of the software provided by Starwon Internet.

14) In the event of a system failure for whatever reason, Starwon Internet accepts no responsibility for any damages or consequential losses incurred.

15) On accounts with volume based charging you agree to pay volume charges if your download usage exceeds the agreed limit per month.

16) You agree to pay your non-refundable Internet account in advance.

17) If you supply credit card details, you authorise Starwon Internet to debit the credit card for valid charges if authorised when they fall due (including excess volume or time).

18) Starwon Internet reserves the right to vary the rate of charges at any time by giving a minimum of 30 days notice before such changes come into effect.

19) You agree to pay all such changes as are incurred through the usage of your account.

20) It is your responsibility to notify Starwon Internet if you no longer require the service.

21) Starwon Internet reserves the right to terminate your connection at any time.

22) If you have a website hosted by Starwon Internet, your prices of your products must include GST.

23) Starwon Internet reserves the right to send information to members by email.
