History
On 1 October 1995 together with 3 shareholders and directors we started a new company - Starwon Enterprises Pty Ltd - which purchased the domain name " Ezylynk". Ezylynk was an unsuccessful Internet Service Provider and we took over the lease of their premises at Twickenham Street, Victoria Park, purchased bandwidth and commenced operations.
We replaced all the computer hardware and software, installed new communication equipment and changed the bandwidth provider.
Harry Ortheil orchestrated these changes and programmed our internal systems.
Early in 1997 we relocated our principal computer and communication equipment into a proper computer environment at the University of WA Physics building. We also relocated the rest of our operations to our present premises at Hampden House, Level 1 South, 174 Hampden Road Nedlands.
In late 1997 we expanded through acquiring Global Data Access, to Karratha and, between then and 2000, expanded to service Mandurah, Bunbury, Margaret River, Albany, Geraldton, Newman, and Port Hedland. Thus, most of Western Australia was now covered by Starwon Internet.
Between August and November 2002, we commenced a program which expanded our service area to cover all of Australia. Starwon is now a National Internet Service Provider.
In September of 2003 Starwon Internet was sold to Geoff Hurst, the owner and manager of Karratha Internet Support Services. The Starwon services and brand has been retained. The economies of scale achieved through running these two businesses together has brought better products and a wider range of services to Starwon customers.
